Tell Us Your Story

On April 1, 2017, Our client was attending a special event in which her son was competing in Fairfax County, Virginia. Transportation services were provided for that event which included transporting spectators from their vehicles to the event viewing area and back.

To provide the actual services, the defendant employed a driver who did not have a valid commercial vehicle license to drive its bus. To reach the satellite parking lot, the defendant drove on Loisvale Place, an unpaved, gravel roadway that had speed bumps built into it.

As the defendant drove on Loisvale Place, he drove over a speed bump at an excessive rate of speed. The speed bump was open and obvious. Additionally, the defendant had driven over that speed bump multiple times earlier that day, as well as, driven over that speed bump in years preceding the event.

As a result, our client was thrown into the air and landed with great force onto her seat.

Due to that impact, she suffered significant pain and injury to her body and lost wages.

The case settled with $285,000 awarded to the our client.
