BenGlassLaw celebrates Lojek’s leadership and mentorship.
The legal team at BenGlassLaw wants to congratulate Sydney Lojek on winning the 2026 BenGlassLaw Referee and Umpire Leadership Scholarship. Lojek will receive $2,500 in financial support ahead of her upcoming year at Northwestern University.
The BenGlassLaw Referee and Umpire Leadership Scholarship celebrates students with referee experience who have found new and innovative ways to use that experience in a professional environment. When Lojek stepped up to help solve the local soccer referee shortage, she began developing the mentorship and leadership skills she needed to make waves in her community.
Today, Lojek is an exceptional young soccer referee. Her story of determination and community service moved the BenGlassLaw team, emphasizing the firm’s belief that commitment to one’s community and young athletes can transform a young person’s professional career.
Lojek plans to continue officiating during her college career. She’s already researched youth soccer leagues in Evanston, IL, and looks forward to helping a new generation of athletes find their confidence on the field.
As an incoming college student, Lojek plans to divide her time between continued service to her community and her pursuit of a professional degree. While she’s presently undecided on her major, she’s interested in economics, legal studies, and Northwestern University’s pre-medical track.
Conversations with Lojek make it clear that she’s a community-centered young woman who wants to remain involved in soccer while serving other up-and-coming athletes. “Refereeing has been such a huge part of my life that I cannot imagine simply stopping when I go to college,” she says.
The personal injury lawyers at BenGlassLaw wish Lojek the best of luck as she starts her collegiate career and have no doubt that she’ll continue to be an asset to the communities she serves.
