Recently we settled a car accident claim stemming from an October 30, 2015 accident in Fairfax County. On that date, our client was driving when another vehicle was rear-ended and then pushed into his vehicle causing significant property damage and personal injury to him. Specifically, he was diagnosed with an ankle fracture and later diagnosed with a sternum fracture and two vertebrae fractures.

Fortunately, he made a strong recovery, didn’t require surgery, and had no significant permanent injuries. However, his medical care reached just over $85,000. Given the nature of the claim we were hopeful that our client could have resolved the claim without our help because the liability and injuries seemed quite clear. However insurance companies being insurance companies, they refused to even make an offer. We had to file suit and ultimately did not receive an offer until just before trial.
