In Virginia it's perfectly legal to drive without insurance. You can go to the DMV and you can register your car as an uninsured vehicle. If you get hit by somebody with little or no insurance, you have to turn to your own insurance for coverage under your Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists Coverage (UIM). Are you covered?
