In one of the most closely watched fatal car accident cases in Virginia in recent years, the Supreme Court of Virginia has upheld a $9.5 million wrongful death verdict in a case involving a heavy truck which turned over and killed a woman and seriously injured her husband.

During the litigation leading to the trial it became apparent that the plaintiff had removed (and then lied about) Facebook photographs which were apparently unflattering to this case. His lawyer then lied about it in conduct the Supreme Court of Virginia called "patently unethical."

The trial court reduced the verdict but the Supreme Court of Virginia reinstated the entire verdict.
