A Newport News jury has awarded a patient $3,500,000 for a fall she sustained while recovering from hip surgery. We previously reported on this case, which was handled by Newport News medical malpractice attorney, Sandy Waterman.

Waterman called over 40 witnesses to tesify and used groundbreaking 3.0 Tesla MRI technology to prove his case.

Several years ago Waterman achieved a verdict of $1,600,000 against Riverside in a similar case involving a patient's fall in the hospital. The hospital appealed that case to the Supreme Court of Virginia and lost.

The current case is Shirley Frazier Burrell v. Riverside Hospital, Inc., et al., Case No. CL1101633F-15 in Circuit Court for the City of Newport News, Virginia. Waterman has additional details about his latest win on his blog.
