Passenger Killed in Crash After Police Pursuit

Posted on Oct 17, 2013

A 15-year old unlicensed driver was driving on Route 236 (just outside of the Fairfax City limits) when a state trooper began pursuit and attempted to pull over the car.  The suspect vehicle proceeded to drive, and traveled at more than 100 miles per hour when the driver ran a red light at the intersection of Route 29 and Route 50 in Fairfax, and collided with another automobile.  The driver fled the scene on foot, but was later caught by the state trooper and was arrested.  The passenger of the car, a 14-year old female, was killed at the scene.  The driver is now being charged with involuntary manslaughter, one felony account to elude police, one felony count of hit-and-run, and driving without a driver's license.
