Negotiating your Fairfax accident case settlement with the insurance company (Part B)

Nuances of the Insurance Company Settlement Offer

You don’t need a Fairfax personal injury lawyer to figure out what a typical accident case in your area is worth. I’ve produced a handy video on the myth of the “formula” for calculating an injury claim settlement, and you can always check out my free book, a link to which is at the end of this article.

Even though the insurance company you deal with may be national, the adjusters still take into consideration your local area. The insurance company will look at what is known as the “marketplace” – the average estimated award a jury in Fairfax County would give in a typical accident case.

Submitting Your Injury Case and Demand Letter

Your “package” sent to the insurance company should include all of the evidence and paperwork to support the amount you are seeking in damages. This amount should be described in your demand letter, which breaks down what losses you incurred in the accident and how much you should obtain in compensation.

Keep in mind that you’re not paying attorney’s fees or court costs, so don’t let the insurance company trick you into settling for less because of those phantom expenses. You’re going to settle your case on your own, which means the settlement is yours alone (well, aside from paying off all your damages).

This is pretty much the most frustrating and easily complicated part of your accident case. That’s why I offer victims in the Fairfax area a discounted strategy session in which I’ll help you better understand your rights to fair compensation. If you contact my office at least a week prior to your desired meeting time, we can help you with the final step to settle your case on your own.

Here’s Where to Find More Help for Your Accident Case

Ok, you may need a little lawyer help at the end stages of your case. That’s why I offer a single-cost coaching session to those who want a little extra support on their case without actually hiring a lawyer.

Before you finish and settle your case on your own or contact my office to schedule a coaching session, I encourage you to first visit my website and download a FREE digital copy of my book, Get It Settled! The Accident Victim’s Guide to Settling Your Case Without Hiring a Lawyer. After reading my book, if you think you really need a lawyer to help you settle your case, contact Ben Glass Law at 703-584-7277 and we’ll set up a consultation.
