Diabetes Misdiagnosis: Can I sue for medical malpractice if a lab report showed that I had high blood sugar levels, but I was never treated? I was diagnosed with diabetes three years later.

From what you described, it is difficult to tell if you have a strong medical malpractice case. One lab repot may not be enough to win a lawsuit.

If you were my client, one of the questions I would ask you is if you were seeing a primary care physician during those three years.  I would also want to know if you had any further blood tests and what the results were.

Virginia medical malpractice cases are not easy to win.  You have to show that the doctor strayed so far away from the accepted standard within the medical field, that he or she would be considered negligent.
