Our client was traveling north in the 400 block of Emmet Street, South when he slowed to a stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk, as required by law. Unfortunately, the defendant was driving directly behind him and failed to stop accordingly, and thus rear-ended him. Due to the impact, his vehicle sustained $3,361.40 in property damage
Following the crash, he felt pressure in the back of his head, his irritability, chronic insomnia, and cognitive issues since the accident and the plaintiff was diagnosed with a closed head injury with mild traumatic brain injury/concussion/post-concussion syndrome and cervical strain. He underwent a brain MRI, EEG, and additional testing.
The case went to trial and was settled with $115,000 awarded to our client.
