Remember this case? Elementary school teacher and soccer coach Sean Lanigan was accused by a young student of sexually improper conduct.

Turns out she and her witnesses rather quickly recanted certain critical portions of her story and, as Tom Jackman pointed it in a very detailed follow up story, her Facebook posts and early criminal criminal testimony were at extreme odds with the charges being levied.

Didn't matter. Lanigan got prosecuted - went to trial - and was aquitted.

Reputation ruined. Finances gone.

Now the Fairfax County School Board will pay almost $75,000 of your tax dollars to Lanigan.

Ouch.

Good for him. Bad for the rest of us. We are being forced, through taxation, to pay for what this young girl and the detective and prosecutor who agreed to go through with the whole trial did to this guy. Wonder what ever happened to the three of them.
