I got another email pitch the other day from a firm that wanted me to pay to be in their listing of attorneys. The typical pitch says that they have "leads" for me and lots of people are hitting their website every day in search of an experienced personal injury attorney.

They want me to pay them a hefty fee for every name they send me!

Apparently some consumers are too lazy to do the hard work necessary to find the right lawyer for their case. They'll go to one of these sites, input their data and location and hope that their message is being sent to lots of qualified local lawyers.

This might make sense if you are buying a car and know the exact model and make of the car you want and are searching on price but it makes absolutely no sense to hire an attorney this way.

If you need an attorney something important is going on in your life. More important than buying a car, frankly. Take the time to do your homework. Follow the steps in the video that is at the top of BenGlassLaw and read my book, The Truth About Lawyer Advertising.
