Recently, the Prince George County Police Department has stated that it will use “double-blind” photo line-ups to have witnesses identify possible suspects in crimes.  The double-blind technique requires the witness be shown individual photos of possible suspects rather than all photos being showed at once.  It also requires that the officer presenting the suspect photos know nothing about the case.

This change is the result of real concern of false identification.  As has been clear by the recent string of exonerated convicts, it appears that law enforcement is making some effort to revamp their investigation techniques.
