North Dakota High School Student Apologies and Attempts Suicide

CNN reports that a freshman high school student at Fairmount Public School, located in North Dakota, walked in front of students from his school, ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade, apologized, and shot himself.  Medical aid was provided to him at the scene, and he was rushed to the hospital.

No motive for his actions has yet been established.

While it is fortunate no other students where physically injured as a result of the incident, there is no doubt that this is a troubling matter.  Certainly, authorities will be left asking - what could have been done to stop this?
