A smartphone may do just as much, if not more, than a Fairfax injury lawyer when it comes to documenting evidence of your accident. Think about it, your iPhone will be right there in the car with you, while a lawyer is sitting in their office waiting for another accident case to walk in.

If you’re dealing with a minor accident and you’ve suffered only a few bumps and bruises, you may not need to call a lawyer. Instead, use that phone to snap photos of the accident scene, including;

  • damaged vehicles;
  • property; and
  • people.

Your phone probably even contains a note-taking feature. Talk to any witnesses and get their contact information. Make sure you take down the information of the police officers who document the accident. Video and voice are also great and can be easily captured by most smartphones.

Good documentation and evidence of your accident case will mean less hassle when settling your case on your own. It’s hard to argue in the face of good evidence, especially when you can show proof that you weren’t at fault and your injuries were related to the crash.
