Mary is our claims manager who helps our Long-Term Disability clients after they have won their appeal for benefits. Mary helps to maintain clients’ claims by working closely with them to gather and compile medical updates for the insurance company. She basically acts as a go-between from the client to the insurance company and strives to make the client’s role in maintaining their claim as easy as possible.
Mary also manages our Long-Term Disability consultation clients. After the intake process, she works with the client to help them make the best out of their consultation with Ben.
Mary went to George Mason University, where she got her B.A. in Global Affairs with a minor in Japanese. After completing her undergrad, she moved to Japan and taught English as a Second Language for two years in a rural town of 2,000 people. Mary came back to America to pursue her M.P.S. in Paralegal Studies at the George Washington University. She is currently a member of GW’s National Society for Leadership and Success and the Paralegal Honor Society.
In her free time, and when she is not working on her latest cross-stitch project, Mary likes to be active and get out in nature. Her current goal is to explore every hiking trail in the state of Virginia. She is also an avid lover of the theatrical arts and can often be found humming along to whatever musical number is stuck in her head that day.
Mary’s favorite quote is one that she learned while living abroad in Japan:
“Fall down seven times, get up eight.”
This quote has taken on a whole new meaning to her since working at Ben Glass Law. Mary finds immeasurable purpose in helping disabled clients who have fallen seven times to get up an eighth time, but this time with the legal support they need to live a better life.
