Colin is a northern Virginian, born and raised, and has been working for Ben Glass since 2013 as a writer and video studio manager. Most of the videos you see on the BenGlassLaw Youtube channel were shot and edited by Colin, including Frequently Asked Question videos with Ben and James, videos for charity organizations, and testimonials from BenGlassLaw clients.
Every month, Colin compiles and edits the BenGlassLaw print newsletter, which has become a regular part of the lives of Virginians all over the state. “When someone comes in and tells Ben, ‘I LOVE your newsletter! I read it every month,’ that absolutely makes my day,” says Colin. “I try to make it funny, local, and educational without being boring. We have readers who make our recipes every month! I consider it a great honor to be able to bring brightness and joy to someone’s life, even if it’s just for one day a month. Our readership is a tight-knit community and that’s how we like it!”
Colin is no stranger to working with lawyers. He interned at the Securities and Exchange Commission during the financial crisis of 2008 when Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers collapsed. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 2009, he started his career as a private tutor, teaching everything from first grade grammar to high level SAT prep. “I love working with kids and helping them learn new things about the world around them. It meant a lot to me to spend a few years teaching everything I could teach and seeing it bear fruit in my students. Northern Virginia can be a stressful place for students; they’re under a ton of pressure. So much of my work was about teaching them how to cope with failure and how to move forward with confidence, no matter what the world tells them.”
Outside of the office, Colin is a religious man and a heavy reader. Anyone in the office can tell you that he is completely obsessed with Liverpool Football Club in the English Premier League. He hasn’t missed a single game since 2012, including preseason games and friendlies. “It’s a chance for me to let go and be completely immersed in something for ninety minutes without being bombarded by advertising, politics, or the other stresses of the world. As strange as it sounds, I feel a deep personal bond and kinship with the people of Liverpool. When it all comes together in a big game, the catharsis is unmatched.”If you’ve been hurt in a car accident, hurt by a medical professional, or charged with a crime, Colin has one word of advice for you: call BenGlassLaw and let us help. “I’ve worked here for years, and it’s a completely different environment from many of the ‘high pressure’ law firms you see in the area. If we don’t think you need an attorney, not only do we tell you so, we give you free books and guides to help you solve your problem! There’s really no other way to put this: Ben Glass is an incredibly inspirational person to work for and he has a tremendous amount of love for everyone he comes in contact with. Ben is the reason I’m here and the reason I tell people without hesitation to call our firm. We’re eager to hear your story, show you what happens next, and ultimately transform your life by solving your legal problem.”
